Licensees Gareth and Helen Pugh are celebrating after their pub – the Trout at Tadpole Bridge in Faringdon, Oxfordshire - was named AA Pub of the Year for England.
The pair picked up the prestigious title from ceremony host Natasha Kaplinsky and Rupert Miles, chief executive of AA Publishing last night.
At the same event the Inn at Inverberg, in Luss, Glasgow won the title for Scotland, while the Queens Head, near Llandudno at Glanwydden was named Welsh pub of the year.
AA Hotel Services group area manager, Giovanna Grossi, said: “It has been difficult to make the final decisions this year as we have seen some exceptional candidates but we are confident that the best establishments have been selected.
"Each and every winner has been chosen for their quality and excellence and we are delighted to acknowledge the industry’s finest”.
The AA Hospitality Awards honour the best hotels restaurants and pubs in the UK. This year chef Raymond Blanc was presented with a lifetime achievement award.
